Steamers end the 1st half of the season with a 16-11 record taking first place, the crown, and a berth into post season.

Quoted from peninsulapilots.com - In the split-season world of Minor League baseball (a model which the CPL follows closely), each season is broken into two important 'mini-seasons.' At the completion of each half, a champion is declared and awarded a berth into the post-season. Since the 1st pitch of the 2003 season in the CPL, there have been seven halves of baseball played. As of the end of play today, the Edenton Steamers have now claimed six of those seven titles. The only minor hiccup during their dominant run came in the 2nd half of last season, when a scrappy Pilots team clipped them at the wire and went on to make the Championship round of the Pettit Cup Tournament.
